WILL HAYMAN
My Background
I've been working as a lighting designer since 2018, and currently work as the Chief Electrician at the Oxford Playhouse. Although I specialise in theatre, I also have experience in lighting dance and opera, as well as concerts, events, and lighting for camera. In 2019, I became a member of the National Youth Theatre as a lighting designer, and I have also acted as the lighting adviser for Oxford University Theatre Technicians and Designers (TAFF). More recently, I was awarded a place on the Association of Lighting Designers' 2020 Lumiere scheme.

A Visual Storyteller
As a designer, I aim to create work that is punchy and dynamic, and that matches the energy of a given piece. I understand the significance of lighting design to storytelling, and believe that exploring the relationship between realism and symbolism leads to the most effective and visually striking results.
Say Hi!
As my friends will testify to, talking about lighting is my favourite pastime, so if you'd like to get in touch either to inquire about my availability, or simply just to ask some questions, I'd love to hear from you! You can find my contact details below, or on the Contact page.
